Lama Zopa Rinpoche is advising that the time has come for students to realize the truth of what they have been studying. In June 2010, he commented to Ven. Roger Kunsang, his long-time attendant and CEO of FPMT, “We are doing well studying the words. Now we need the students to experience the lam-rim.”The lived, integrated experience of Buddha’s teachings comes through practice and retreat.

With “Subduing the Mind, Actualizing the Path,“ Mandala hopes to help inspire students towards achieving true realizations. The article comprises Vajrapani Institute director Fabienne Predelle’s “Thinking Retreat,” an inspiring call to retreat for individuals who are interested but don’t feel quite ready to take the plunge, and a brief introduction to some of FPMT’s retreat accommodations and practice resources.
