EDUCATION

Universal Mandala School
Universal Mandala School, located in Ibiza, Spain, uses the Seven Steps to Knowledge, Strength, and Compassion (a curriculum developed by Creating Compassionate Cultures) to educate young children.
During our regular morning school program, the Seven Steps are explored through thematic studies centered on an exploration of the precious elements from our outer world and inner world, as well as the interconnection between the two. This program started October 2011 and will last until June 2012.
Our once-a-week afterschool program introduces activities and practices that allow children to experience each of the Seven Steps through the art of mindfulness, through centering, breath awareness, reflection and other activities including discussions, art projects, storytelling, science, music, movement, theater, yoga, qi gong, and cooperative games.
At the request of parents and on Khadro-la’s advice, we also offer workshops and courses for adults based on the program we teach the children.
Universal Mandala is currently planning to become a school capable of accommodating children 2-and-a-half to 12 years old. Also, starting in September 2012, we’ll begin to help integrate Creating Compassionate Culture and Universal Wisdom Education in Ibiza’s public schools by training public school teachers. We’re confident that working with public schools is the greatest way to spread Universal Wisdom Education to benefit a larger number of families!
